Emergency Information
If it is determined that there is an imminent threat (either natural or man-made) to the citizens of Green Valley, you will be notified by one or more of the following:
- Sheriff’s Office or Deputy
- Fire Department
- Sheriff’s Auxiliary Volunteer
- Neighborhood Watch Chairpersons or Block Captain
- KGVY 1080 Radio – Green Valley
Follow their instructions. If you are told to evacuate, do so promptly. If you are instructed to go to a certain location, go there! Don’t go anywhere else! If there is time, take a brief moment to accomplish a few things:

things:
- Turn off all gas, electrical appliances, and air conditioner.
- Take prescription medications with you.
- Take eye glasses with you.
- Take identification with you.
- Take important papers and cash.
- Have a battery-operated radio available.
- Take special dietary needs.
- Lock up your residence or business.
- Dogs and cats must be on a leash or in a carrier.
- Follow all official instructions and directions.
- Avoid using your telephone during an emergency.
- Assess the facts
- Keep your head
- Think of others
- Act calmly and directly
Prior planning can prevent an emergency from becoming a catastrophe.
